Economic Report 2018

The 2018 Economic report by the World Employment Confederation shows most employment services growing worldwide, helping 56 million people to access labour markets. Agency work remains the largest business segment but Recruitment Process Outsourcing (RPO) was the sector which grew the most year-on-year. On the regional outlook, Latin America recorded strong growth and the Asian Pacific market is also showing promising developments.

The World Employment Confederation 2018 economic report (based on 2016 data) gives a comprehensive picture of the employment industry around the world. It demonstrates how the industry acts as a labour market enabler, delivering work, adaptation, security and prosperity to help organisations remain competitive and support workers navigate a changing world of work.

The global employment industry recorded a sales turnover of €491 billion in 2016. This record figure since 2007 reflects the new labour market reality and the changing needs of employers and workers. The report gives an overview for each service (Agency Work, Direct Recruitment, Career Management, Managed Services Provider and Recruitment Process Outsourcing) as well as for each region represented by the World Employment Confederation.
