Employment Industry delegation takes part in EU Tripartite Social Summit

Bettina Schaller, World Employment Confederation-Europe President, and Denis Pennel, Managing Director, participated on 21 March 2018 in the EU Tripartite Social Summit as part of the BusinessEurope delegation.

In her intervention, Bettina Schaller underlined that Europe is getting back on track with the economic recovery having gained momentum and new Jobs being creating, leading to rising employment levels.

To sustain economic recovery and to create futureproof labour markets, the World Employment Confederation-Europe put forward three main policy recommendations, which are based on the Manifesto “No future of work without social Innovation!”

  1. To allow for a diversity of labour contracts in order to meet the needs of companies and workers.
  2. To develop and strengthen cooperation between public and private employment services in order to foster labour market transitions and inclusive growth
  3. To promote social Innovation by fostering social Innovation, as well as transferable and portable rights.

The World Employment Confederation-Europe also referred to new forms of work and labour market intermediation, such as online talent platforms. A Joint Research conducted by the World Employment Confederation-Europe and UNI-Europe on that topic is about to finalised and will be launched on 16th of May 2018.
